WHAT IS FOREVER FOR?

No words to say,my heart felt cold.
I waited for tears, but nothing flowed.
No feelings to share,no anger to unfold.
I listened as her life story was quietly told.

So young,so sweet,and now she's gone.
What amazing stories she can make is now untold.
So fast to end the life she has known.
And all that was left are her memories for our hearts to hold.

And through the emptiness that fills my soul,
I remember this word that brings so much joy.
And though I know I've used it to make life full,
I wonder now what FOREVER is for.

(In memory of a truly loving person.Beautiful inside and out.Maya...gonna miss you ,cousin.)

(P.S.Posting this again for Gooseberry Garden's Poetry Picnic .It's been a year but I can still sometime feel her presence.)

It really does express people's feeling...once we are stumbled/ lost something i guess the best way is to not look behind us and continue to live our lives happily! Don't trap inside the pain >"<

And so the butterfly has really grown as a writer, the images and moods you painted by your words on this particular poem are so condensed, it fills the heart with not just sorrow but a profound emotion of loosing and remembering.

And...

I feel your pain in this piece of yours...

But forever....forever is there and here inside us. And you may have lost someone...but she lives on...and into forever.

You just miss her, because your journey here on earth still continues...but now without her.

A retched yet beautiful word display, truly a bitter delight to read.

I feel the sadness in this and the question - 'forever' does seem meaningless in the face of loss, especially of the young. A well-written piece.

it is indeed a divine piece,
the lose is huge,
feeling numb is natural and your words have demonstrated that emotions perfectly.

Thanks for linking up with potluck,

A sentimental piece. Forever is a double-edged sword and can be just as unbearable either way it swings.

Dear June
I believe that the 'Forever' is usually for nothing.. but then sometimes somethings fills the space so much that nothing becomes every thing, forever. I liked this tribute to a loved one so much.. your words took hold of me 'I waited for tears, but nothing flowed'.

This sort of thing is almost impossible to deal with; and, the writing of it can be healing. We hope so. I'm sorry for your loss. I took this to be autobiographical.

Well done in any case. And I do love the photo and also your blog them. Lovely!

Here from potluck. Thanks for your fine contribution. I valued reading it.
